For over 40 years Mr. Hagood has focused his practice in areas of labor and employment discrimination, ERISA and civil litigation:; has extensive litigation experience in both state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels, having tried a myriad of cases, arbitrations and administrative proceedings arising under state/federal laws, including Title V11 of Civil Rights Act, ADEA, ADA, FSLA, OSHA, ERISA, NLRB, FAA and OFCCP. In 1994 he was appointed by the Tennessee Supreme Court as a member of the Tennessee Board of Law Examiners, served as Secretary from l994-2001 and President in 2002. For many years was a contributing editor for the ABA annual publication "The Developing Labor Law",has authored various published articles in his field, including "Claims of Mental and Emotional; Damages in Employment Discrimination Cases"; "Employers Duty to Bargain Under NLRA"; The Role of the Judiciary in Labor Arbitration; and "A Brief History of the TBL and Standards for Admission in Tennessee". Mr. Hagood the senior partner of his firm and practices full-time. He has served as an Arbitrator in numerous cases; trained and certified/approved as a Mediator by federal and state Courts;has been selected by the parties and/or appointed by the Courts to mediate cases under federal/state laws;and has successfully conducted hundreds of mediations overthe last 10-12 years.
