Carol Owen is a shareholder in the Firm's Nashville office, where she concentrates her practice in complex litigation and risk management counseling for clients in the automotive and medical device manufacturing fields and in operations and risk management. Carol assembles talented teams that understand the clients' objectives, and she leads by example, anticipating and responding to the issues that arise in high-stakes, high-risk situations. Upon graduation from law school, she was a law clerk to the Honorable Robert L. Echols, then Chief Judge of the Middle District of Tennessee. Presently, she is teaching a seminar at Vanderbilt University entitled "Antarctic Exploration, the Nature of Virtue, and the Search for Heroism in Modern Life."

  • Lead counsel to defendant automotive parts manufacturer in suit alleging defendant's toxic waste caused plaintiff's permanent disability.
  • Trial counsel to defendant bank in case brought by victims of Ponzi scheme alleging $40 million in damages based on bank's failure to detect money laundering.
  • Trial counsel to defendant county in suit alleging carcinogenic toxins had leached from landfill into local water supply, requiring a $135 million remediation. 
  • Trial counsel to defendant hospitals in $35 million breach of contract dispute with denial management company.
