Prior to joining the firm, Lauren Waddell practiced family law and managed her own family law practice for seven years. Ms. Waddell’s practice has focused exclusively on family law cases including divorce litigation, custody issues, complex property division, marital agreements, paternity actions, child support, modification actions, and enforcement of prior orders.
Lauren Waddell graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where she received a business degree with a double major in Management and Economics. Ms. Waddell received her law degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston, where she was a member of the South Texas Law Review. Ms. Waddell is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
Ms. Waddell is actively involved in leadership positions for legal organizations. She currently serves as the Chair of the Houston Bar Association, Family Law Section; Director for the Association of Women Attorneys; Chair of the Awards Committee for the Burta Rhoads Raborn Family Law, American Inn of Court; and has served as President of Texas Women Lawyers. Ms. Waddell is a Fellow of the Houston Young Lawyers Foundation, Houston Bar Foundation, and the Texas Bar Foundation. Ms. Waddell is a member of Gulf Coast Family Law Specialists and the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists. She has been recognized by H Texas Magazine as a “Top Young Professional” (2006-2009), by H Texas Magazine as a “Top Lawyer” (2010-2015), by Houstonia Magazine as “Top Lawyer” (2013-2015), by Texas Monthly Magazine as a “Rising Star” (2011-2013), and by Texas Monthly Magazine as “Super Lawyer” (2013-2015).
