Pete Ezell is a shareholder in the firm of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, residing in the Nashville, Tennessee office. His practice is concentrated in the areas of commercial real estate acquisitions, development, leasing and finance, private activity bond tax-exempt financings and economic development transactions.
Mr. Ezell received a B.A. in Political Science from The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee; an M.B.A. from National University in San Diego, California; and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University.
He is a member of the American, Tennessee and Nashville Bar Associations and the National Association of Bond Lawyers. Additionally, he is a fellow in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and is past Chair of the Attorney's Opinions Committee. Mr. Ezell is a past Chair of the Committee on Legal Opinions of the Real Property, Trust and Estate Trust Section of the American Bar Association and is a frequent lecturer on the topic of third-party closing opinions and other topics of interest to real estate lawyers.
Medical Office Building Portfolio Acquisition — Acquisition of a portfolio of eight medical office buildings on the campus of two hospitals. The buildings were attached to the hospitals and were not designed or engineered with separate ownership in mind, presenting numerous strategic and drafting issues.
