Julius Hines practices in admiralty and maritime law as well as other areas of commercial and business law. He assists shipping clients with maritime emergencies, such as oil and hazardous materials spills, vessel collisions and groundings, accidental injury and death and other maritime casualties. Mr. Hines also handles federal and state court litigation arising from such incidents. He also deals with commercial disputes of a maritime nature, such as charter party disputes. Finally, Mr. Hines represents lenders and vessel owners with respect to ship mortgages and other maritime transactions.
His litigation practice also includes cases involving recreational boats, including warranty disputes and personal injury cases. In addition to marine cases, Mr. Hines handles matters involving other types of commercial law, such as sales, negotiable instruments and documentary credits.
Mr. Hines has appeared in the appellate courts of South Carolina as well as in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
