Juan Ignacio is a Partner at KPMG Abogados and the Head of International Tax & Global Transfer Princing Services.
He has a degree in Economics from CUNEF (Madrid) and a Master's Degree in Advanced Studies in Financial Markets from UNED. He is also a member of Madrid's Official Registry of Economists.
Before joining the firm in 2005, Juan Ignacio worked in the trade and project finance industry, specialising in complex economic modelling and in the design and implementation of investment structures to support Spanish groups in their internationalisation process.
Since he joined KPMG, Juan Ignacio has built upon his economic background to work intensively in complex tax valuation projects for transfer pricing purposes of intangible assets, and in the design of transfer pricing policies in line with the global business model of MNE groups.
He has also developed methodologies for the analysis, design and valuation, from a transfer pricing perspective, of intragroup financial transactions and hybrid instruments.
Juan Ignacio has negotiated many advance pricing agreements with the Spanish Tax Authorities, with regard to intangible assets, intragroup financing and free capital.
He has been a professor for the course on “Intangible Assets” at the EOI and for the International Tax Master’s Degree at ISDE in the area of transfer pricing, as well as for several courses and lectures in various specialised forums like CEF and APD.
For eight years Juan Ignacio has also been a professor of “Strategic Management” at CEURA (degree in business administration).
