John Coleman's practice has concentrated on labor and employment law for more than 50 years on behalf of management. His labor relations practice includes management counseling concerning union avoidance, union efforts to organize employers, handling NLRB unfair labor practice cases, labor injunctions, labor negotiations, arbitrations, safety and health matters, among others. His employment law practice includes preventive counseling of employers concerning race and sex harassment, national origin, religion, age and disabilities discrimination and representing them in litigation of such claims.
John, a former adjunct professor of law at the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, taught labor relations and employment discrimination law for many years. He is active in the labor section of the American Bar Association; a past Chairman of the Alabama Labor Law section; and past Vice-Chairman, Industrial Relations Committee, Business Council of Alabama. He serves as a speaker in seminars on a variety of legal topics in his specialties. John is a member of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since its inception in 1984.
