I have had a diverse practice at Miller Nash Graham & Dunn for over 30 years, emphasizing both legal counseling and commercial litigation. I serve as general outside counsel for several manufacturing and construction companies, and value my relationship as a partner on the business team for these clients. I strive to be a creative problem-solver, and always look for ways to resolve issues outside of court and at the minimum expense to the client. If a lawsuit does arise, however, I am an experienced and successful litigator and trial lawyer.
Over the years, I have developed a special expertise in the field of construction law. I have handled virtually all types of construction law matters for both local and national clients, including contract and payment disputes, construction lien issues, surety bond claims, construction-defect claims, insurance issues, and public contracting matters and bid disputes. I have successfully tried and arbitrated large construction cases throughout Oregon and in other states as well, often involving multimillion-dollar claims.
I am very active in alternative dispute resolution, having served for many years on the approved panel of neutrals for complex construction disputes for the American Arbitration Association. As an advocate, I have handled many arbitration proceedings and scores of mediations.
