John Bromley practises primarily in the
area of maritime law. John has experience in all levels of Courts in British
Columbia as well as the Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal and the Supreme
Court of Canada. John has also been counsel in numerous mediation and
arbitrations and has acted as an arbitrator.
John also advises on charterparties
and contracts of affreightment. His long experience in the maritime field
enables him to give prompt, practical advice on maritime law issues. John has
acted for marine insurers from all over the world as well as many of the P
& I Clubs. He also represents clients in the marine industry. He
represented Vancouver Drydock Limited in its successful defence of a claim
against it relating to the Queen of Oak Bay grounding.
John has served as chair of the Maritime
section of the BC Branch of the CBA. He has also served on the executive of the
MIABC. He also was chair of the Canadian Diabetes Association from 2000-2002.
