Jeff Davis is a recognized trial lawyer and advisor who assists energy sector companies with serious oilfield-related litigation, catastrophes and risk issues throughout Texas, Oklahoma and other major producing areas in the U.S. His success can be attributed to his fundamental understanding of the legal and technical issues of oil and gas exploration and his ability and willingness to try cases when necessary. For over 15 years, Jeff has been lead counsel in over 100 claims resulting from oilfield incidents and fatalities, mostly in Texas and Oklahoma. From minute one, Jeff brings strategic guidance and practical experience to clients all the way through trial.
In addition to his oilfield experience, Jeff also represents clients in a variety of commercial litigation matters, including contractual disputes and business torts. Jeff represents the Houston Astros in a variety of matters. He also prevailed in a case for the Detroit Tigers that went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Jeff is lauded for client service because of his vigilance in case management and efficiency. He is constantly evaluating each case, always monitoring the likelihood of success of the various issues and conducting a cost benefit analysis. He also helps his clients with royalty disputes, as well as their risk management and liability concerns, often at the contract-drafting and negotiation stage.
Jeff is an elected member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and is a Fellow in the Trial Lawyer Honorary Society of the Litigation Counsel of America
