For non-union employers, Jeff’s experience includes drafting and advising on employment contracts, including non-competition, non-solicitation and confidentiality agreements; advising on strategies related to union prevention, and defending employers in union organizing drives; and arguing high-stakes employment-related litigation before the Courts such as wrongful dismissal claims and injunction proceedings.

For unionized employers, Jeff’s experience includes advising on collective agreement interpretation, including matters such as contracting out and terminations/layoffs; advising on collective bargaining strategy, including drafting proposals and the strategic approach to bargaining, and acting as primary spokesperson in collective bargaining; and arguing significant cases before administrative tribunals, including before boards of arbitration and at the Ontario Labour Relations Board.

For both unionized and non-union employers, Jeff’s experience includes advising on the labour and employment issues arising on the sale or acquisition of a business; training on all aspects of labour and employment law; and arguing cases before the Courts and administrative tribunals such as the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.

Jeff was an adjunct professor of Labour Law at the University of Toronto between 2001 and 2011. He is recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada as one of Canada’s leading lawyers in the area of Labour and Employment law.
