Jason B. Yost is a Principal in the law firm of Mercer Thompson LLC. His practice focuses on representing both regulated and non-regulated energy companies in all aspects of domestic and international project development and finance, including the development, acquisition and sale, and ownership and operation of power projects. He has extensive experience drafting and negotiating equipment procurement agreements (turbine and balance of plant), engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) agreements, long term service agreements (LTSAs), operation and maintenance (O&M) agreements, as well as project finance documents. His experience includes projects deriving energy from coal, gas, solar, wind and biomass sources. He has on-the-ground experience in Europe, North America, South America, Asia and the Caribbean.
Project Finance — Counsel to Panda Power Funds in connection with the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Contract for the approximately 750 MW CCGT Temple Generation Facility in Temple, Texas. This deal was named Project Finance International's “Power Deal of the Year - Americas” for 2012.
Engineering, Procurement and Construction Contract — Counsel to Portland General Electric Company in connection with the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Contract for the approximately 200 MW power generation facility at its Port Westward Plant in Clatskanie, Oregon, utilizing Wärtsilä 18V50SG reciprocating engines. Representation also included the Equipment Purchase Agreements, as well as the Long Term Service Agreement for the Wärtsilä engines.
Negotiation of LTSA — Counsel to Moxie Energy in connection with its negotiation of two (2) Long Term Service Agreements, each covering two (2) Siemens SGT6-8000H combustion turbines, for both its Patriot and Liberty generation plants.
Equipment Purchase Agreement — Counsel to the City of Pasadena in connection with the Equipment Purchase Agreement for one (1) GE LM6000 for its Glenarm Repowering Project. Representation also includes advice on the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Contract during the RFP Process.
