Fred Rivera is a partner in the Commercial Litigation group. His practice focuses on civil litigation, internal investigations, and government investigations. Selected for recognition in the 2013 U.S. News Best Lawyers in America®, Fred has nearly 20 years of experience representing clients in business and real estate disputes, consumer protection claims, consumer lending compliance, financial products sales practices, mortgage fraud, fair housing and fair lending, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance. Since 2008, Fred has devoted a substantial part of his practice to representing clients in a wide variety of financial services litigation, government enforcement, and compliance matters. He has experience handling enforcement matters and inquiries before the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Senate, HUD, and other federal and state enforcement agencies. Fred also represents public and corporate clients in class action cases and commercial disputes involving construction and development projects, real estate and business disputes, and commercial lending matters. From 1993 to 1998, Fred was a trial attorney in the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, and more recently (2006 - 2008) Vice President in charge of internal investigations at Fannie Mae.
