Wine Brands Sale — In April 2011 we represented Brown-Forman Corporation in the sale of its Hopland, California based wine brands to Viña Concha y Toro S.A. of Santiago, Chile. The purchase price was $238 million.
Our client sold a subsidiary which held the Fetzer wine brand, winery, bottling facility and vineyards, as well as other Hopland, California-based wine brands. The purchaser had no pre-existing U.S. operations, so the transaction required very involved transition services requirements.
