E. Joseph LaFave is Chair of the firm’s Private Wealth Planning section. He provides personalized service to individuals, families and family businesses in managing the wealth transfer process. Joe handles traditional estate planning, business transaction planning, estate and trust administration and fiduciary disputes. He works regularly with family entities, including operating companies. Joe works on fiduciary investment issues and has extensive experience with family investments and business entities, often multi-generational. He recognizes the importance of family culture and is attentive to the needs of each family member and generational group.
Joe’s practice is multi-disciplinary and he works closely with colleagues from the Best & Flanagan Business Law Section to assist family members in reorganizing their corporate structures to streamline business operations and to maximize the opportunities for efficient wealth transfer. Joe particularly values the long-term relationships he is privileged to have with clients at Best & Flanagan.
