Debra Scudiere is a Past President of both The West Virginia State Bar and the Southern Conference of Bar Presidents, and is now serving as a representative from the West Virginia State Bar Board of Governors to the ABA House of Delegates, where she is a member of the National Caucus of State Bar Associations.
She is an experienced trial attorney whose practice deals with all areas of civil defense litigation, including insurance, contracts, and personal injury. Mrs. Scudiere is often called upon to act as a mediator and arbitrator. She is the Chair of the State Bar's ADR Committe and a member of the Board of Directors of West Virginia Senior Legal Aid, Inc.
Mrs. Scudiere attended West Virginia University, where she received her bachelor's degree magna cum laude in 1976. While attending the WVU College of Law, she was on the staff of The West Virginia Law Review and the Journal of College and University Law. She was President of the Marlyn Lugar Trial Association and a member of the Order of the Barrister. She received her J.D. degree in 1982.
Mrs. Scudiere is admitted to practice in the U. S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia, as well as in the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. She is a member of the West Virginia Bar Association, the Monongalia and Marion County Bar Associations, the DTC of West Virginia, Inc., and DRI.
