Dave represents clients in all aspects of bankruptcy cases, with an emphasis on representing secured creditors in business bankruptcy cases. Outside bankruptcy cases, Dave advises clients on negotiating, documenting, and enforcing rights under secured loans, including loan workouts, forbearance agreements, repossessions, and foreclosures. Dave was born and raised in Oregon and chose to make it his home after traveling around the United States and a bit of Europe for two years after high school and attending law school in California. Other than five years during the 1990s in which he worked in Miller Nash Graham & Dunn’s Seattle office, he has worked in the firm’s Portland office since 1981.
Dave has been board-certified in Business Bankruptcy Law by the American Bankruptcy Board of Certification since 1993. (The Supreme Court of Washington does not recognize certification of specialties in the practice of law, and the certification is not a requirement to practice law in the state of Washington.)
