David is a partner in the Saskatoon office where he practices in the areas of education law, civil litigation, administrative law, employment/labour law, and corporate/ commercial law. He also practices corporate/commercial law in areas of non-profit corporate governance and commercial litigation.
David represents clients in various administrative and adjudicative proceedings, including human rights proceedings, student discipline, professional misconduct, labour arbitration, conciliation, and labour relations. He appears for clients in all levels of court in Saskatchewan, and he has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada. David was assistant commission counsel to the Commission of Inquiry into Matters Relating to the Death of Neil Stonechild. In 2002-2003, he was also an assistant professor of law at the College of Law, University of Saskatchewan.
In 2013, David was selected for inclusion in the Eighth Edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada in the Education Law practice area. In 2012, David was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
David became a partner in 2006 and is the current Chair of the Labour and Employment Law Practice Group and a member of the Executive Committee of McKercher LLP. He was honoured with a Queen’s Counsel appointment in 2014.
