David Ackerman is one of the three founding partners of the firm and concentrates his practice on business litigation, legal ethics & professional malpractice cases and class action litigation. Board certified in business litigation, David’s practice area also includes employment, finance and securities litigation & arbitration.

David is a member of the United States Court of Appeals, Eleventh and Seventh Circuits; United States District Court, Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida; and The Florida Bar.

David has an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating awarded to lawyers by their peers for legal ability and professional ethical standards. In addition to his active law practice, David has been a leader within the legal organization and helped establish the firm’s culture of giving back among the legal community and communities where the firm does business. He is a Florida Bar Foundation Fellow and past-member of the Executive Council of the Business Law Section of The Florida Bar, previously serving as co-chair of the Judicial Liaison Committee and chair of the Law School Liaison and Business Litigation committees. David is a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, where he served as chair of the Professionalism and Commercial Litigation committees and received the Professionalism Award for individuals who exemplify the highest ideals of ethics within the legal system. David has served on the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Fourth District Court of Appeal and is past-chair of the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 15th Judicial Circuit for Palm Beach County. He is an emeritus member and past-president of the Federal Bar Association, Palm Beach Chapter. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, formerly serving on the Federal Civil Procedure Committee and as Vice Chair and then Chair of the Florida State Committee. He has worked on College programs for law students, teaching trial advocacy to public interest attorneys and access to justice. He was appointed by the Chief Judge to the Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on Mediation for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. His community passion is The Salvation Army, where he has been an advocate and volunteer since 1992, and currently serves on its Advisory Board and a number of its committees.
