David M. Lobl is a Partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department at Dentons Canada LLP. David’s practice focuses on litigious estate, trust and capacity matters, including estate administration; commercial litigation, and dispute resolution. As preferred counsel for LawPro, David acts as counsel on matters of professional negligence arising out of estate and trust matters.
With both trial and appellate expertise, David represents trust companies, government agencies and individuals in matters involving contested passing of accounts, the validity of Wills, estate claims, breach of trust actions, dependant support claims, undue influence claims, will interpretations, variation of trusts and trustee disputes. David also provides advice to Guardians of Property, Attorneys for Property and Estate Trustees. As well, David has experience in matters involving voluntary disclosures under the Income Tax Act and rectifications/repairs to defective Wills and Trusts.
In addition to representing clients in a variety of estate related capacities, David also has experience in representing landlords, tenants, developers, condominium boards, as well as, Licensors and Franchisees in franchise litigation.
David has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice (including Estates and Commercial Lists), the Divisional Court and the Ontario Court of Appeal
