Cynthia A. Mikos is a graduate of West Virginia University (B.S.N. 1977), University of Baltimore (M.B.A. 1983 with honors) and Stetson College of Law (J.D. 1993 with honors). She is rated AV by the Martindale-Hubble Law Directory.

Ms. Mikos is Board Certified in Health Law by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education. Her practice focuses on licensure defense, fraud and abuse advice, Medicare, Medicaid and other payer disputes, regulatory compliance, and contracting issues for health care clients.

Ms. Mikos serves as the Treasurer of the Health Law Section of The Florida Bar. She is active in The American Association of Nurse Attorneys (President 2006) and remains a Director in its Tampa Bay Chapter. She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers.

Repeatedly identified as one of the Best Lawyers in America by Naifeh and Smith in the area of health law, as well as one of Florida’s Super Lawyers, Ms. Mikos has received the Community Service Award from the University of Tampa School of Nursing, the Distinguished Services Award from The American Association of Nurse Attorneys, the State Award for Excellence Nurse Practitioner Advocate, from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Special Recognition Award from the Florida Nurses Association.
