Clare's practice focuses on estate and tax planning, succession planning, including cross-border planning, wills, trusts, estate administration, domestic contracts, and related areas of tax law. She provides advice to business owners concerning personal tax, succession and estate planning. She also acts for individuals with foreign residency and citizenship issues affecting their estates and succession planning, often working with tax and estate advisers in other jurisdictions.
Clare has represented many trust and estate beneficiaries, including foreign beneficiaries, in the resolution of disputes and litigation support. She advises fiduciaries and beneficiaries of estates and trusts and acts as counsel in related litigation matters. Clare provides counsel to professional fiduciaries, including banks and trust companies. She has advised on commercial trusts such as mutual fund trusts and income trusts.
Clare also provides advice to families on issues of guardianship and powers of attorney.
