I am an AV rated (Martindale) attorney and founding member of Coumanis & York P.C, a litigation law firm in South Alabama. We have offices in Mobile, Daphne and Montgomery. I established the firm with David P. York, former U.S. Attorney of the Southern District of Alabama, who I have known as a colleague and adversary for nearly twenty years. I have tried in excess of 85 jury trials in my over twenty five (25) years of the practice of law.
My practice areas of emphasis are Federal and state criminal defense, Whistleblower & Healthcare Litigation , Civil Litigation, and Plaintiffs Employment Discrimination/Sexual Litigation.
Upon completing Tulane Law School in 1988, I served five years as an Assistant District Attorney in Mobile County where I tried over sixty (60) jury trials, ranging from violent crimes to complex white-collar crimes. I entered private practice with Briskman & Binion, P.C., a statewide general litigation firm in Mobile, in 1994 and became a member of the Firm in 2000 until forming Coumanis & York, P.C. in 2009.
I am a member of the American Inns of Court, Paul S. Brock Chapter, the South Alabama Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the Mobile County Criminal Defense Attorneys Association, Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
