Charles Knobloch is a partner at Arnold, Knobloch & Saunders, LLP, assisting corporations in development of intellectual property positions and commercialization strategy, as well as Of Counsel assistance and technology consulting to lawyers and firms. Mr. Knobloch has over 22 years of Fortune 50 corporate and technical experience with Conoco, including the participation in and management of multi-company joint industry projects. His work in the oil industry spans 35 years, including a total of six in South East Asia.
Mr. Knobloch has hired out to institutional investors, corporations, and joint ventures to serve in executive capacity for technology commercialization projects. Mr. Knobloch served as CEO for a technology subsidiary of an institutionally held corporation.
In government, Mr. Knobloch is past Chair of the Texas regulatory board for Professional Geoscientists. He is admitted to the Texas Bar, the United States District Court in the Southern District of Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and Patent Attorney registered at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
In Industry, Mr. Knobloch is on the Oversight Committee for the Offshore Technology Conference Asia 2016 and is Chair of the Program Committee for the Offshore Technology Conference Houston 2017. He trains managers in technology commercialization through his "Lost Secrets of Edison" program. He holds the DuPont Award for Engineering Excellence related to his work in imaging technology, is a Texas Professional Geoscientist (Geophysics), Chaired the Oil & Gas Workgroup of the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists. Beside geophysics, he is a proficient computer programming architect. Mr. Knobloch is also an inventor himself, holding several patents.
In law, Mr. Knobloch is Chair of the U.S. Bar – European Patent Office Liaison Council, Vice Chair – International Patent Law & Policy of the Intellectual Property Owners Association, and Chair of the Subcommittee on Patent Enforceability Worldwide, IPO. Mr. Knobloch serves on the Board of the Katy Bar Association.
Mr. Knobloch is admitted before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
In education, Mr. Knobloch is a law graduate of the University of Houston (Simon Frank Scholar), holds a diploma in International Law (Russia) from the University of San Diego, and studied European law in Spain through the College of William and Mary. He has a geophysics degree (with honors) from Michigan Technological University and is currently a member of the Industrial Advisory Board for their College of Engineering. Mr. Knobloch has also served on a sustainability subcommittee and energy committee. He is also a member of their Academy of Distinguished Alumni and founding recipient of their Faculty Citation (for advancements in computing technologies in geophysics). Mr. Knobloch's public service includes his appointment by Gov. Rick Perry to the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists and is on the Advisory Board of Special Life Network.
