Cannon F. Cannon Allen joined the Memphis Office of Adams and Reese in 2006. He is a former Practice Group Leader for the Litigation Section at Adams and Reese LLP, a full service AmLaw 200 firm with 16 offices in the south central United States.


Cannon focuses his practice in the areas of commercial/complex business litigation and trial practice, including multi-district litigation in federal court. He has represented clients extensively in class actions/mass torts involving business disputes, pharmaceuticals, and biomedical implants. His wide litigation practice includes extensive representation of corporate and individual clients often involving consumer and commercial products, insurance coverage litigation and contract claims. He has extensive experience litigating claims involving commercial real estate, mortgage financing, breach of fiduciary duty, personal injury and transportation and logistics claims. Most recently, he has represented major biomedical implant and pharmaceuticals manufacturers in personal injury litigation and government investigations.

His other significant contributions include:

  • Serving as past President, Board Member/Officer and Board of Advisors of the 66 year old Memphis World Trade Club. In 2010, Cannon directed the Club’s efforts to serve the strategically important transportation and logistics industries in Memphis.
  • Chairing the Memphis Multi-Modal Conference (2010) and helping to establish the now annual Southeast Freight Conference(2011 to 2014), forums for industry business leaders and government officials to network, exchange ideas and gain insight into transportation and logistics industry trends.
  • Representing clients in class claims, commercial disputes and multi-district litigation before the Sixth Circuit, various federal courts in Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas and state courts in Texas, Virginia, Florida, Oklahoma, New York and Utah.
  • Past Board Member and Chairman of Westminster Academy, a Classical Christian school that teaches students using the seven liberal arts to love others, truth, wisdom, and beauty.
  • Founder and Past President of the 22 year old Binghampton Fellowship Foundation which has trained hundreds of teachers and thousands of students in urban and private schools to help improve elementary education.


Asked about those he admires, Cannon listed Moses, the disciples, Martin Luther, Abraham Lincoln and Winston Churchill. Admitting his list is much longer; he thinks each of these people had enormous impact for good, oftentimes in the face of tremendous hardship.


Cannon and his wife Jill have four adult children. In his free time, Cannon enjoys reading, biking, water sports, hiking and camping.
