Bruce serves as the Co-Chair of Meckler Bulger Tilson Marick & Pearson and is the founder of the firm's 19-Member Legal Fee Solutions Practice Group. A former prosecutor, Bruce has been providing clients and the legal community with litigation and counseling services for almost three decades. As an active litigator, Bruce’s personal practice consists of high profile, complex commercial, insurance, employment, reinsurance, criminal (white collar crime) and professional liability litigation. Bruce also serves as counsel to a number of Fortune 500 companies. As an adjunct to his professional liability practice, Bruce frequently serves as an attorneys’ fee expert and has testified before numerous state and federal tribunals. Bruce has conducted or supervised more than 300 legal bill review audits involving over $5 billion in legal fees and has testified in deposition and trial on more than a dozen occasions. He has also led and supervised numerous non-fee related corporate and governmental investigative/legal audits involving issues ranging from financial fraud and malfeasance to alleged abuses in governmental hiring. Bruce began his career as a prosecutor in the State's Attorney's Office of Cook County, Illinois as an Assistant State's Attorney.
Bruce was a long standing appointee to the Illinois Supreme Court’s Standing Committee on Professional Responsibility and is currently serving a second term (by appointment of the Governor) to the Illinois Judicial Inquiry Board.

Successfully litigated $200M Dispute Between Insurance Carrier and Underwriting Agency — Lincoln General Insurance Company v. 5Star Specialty Programs, a Division of Crump Insurance Services, Inc. – litigated $200,000,000.00 dispute between managing general agent and insurance carrier concerning a 10-year relationship where allegations were made that managing general agent failed to follow underwriting guidelines.
Successfully Litigated Breach of Contract Against Multiple Real Estate Developers — Southport Bank v. Charles V. Miles, Randolph S. Miles and Goeken Group Corp. – successfully tried to jury verdict in United Stated District Court, breach of guaranty agreement and breach of contract against multiple real estate developers. In November, 2013 obtained verdict (including legal fees and costs) in excess of $12 million dollars against all defendants.
