Bruce has thirty-three years of broad business and corporate law experience, including corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, commercial law and contracts. For several years, Bruce has served as general counsel for Banfield Pet Hospital® as it has grown from a single veterinary hospital to more than 900 hosptials across the Unites States and Puerto Rico. Bruce also provides general counsel services to several other businesses in a variety of industries.
In addition, Bruce has handled hundreds of financing transactions, representing banks, asset-based lenders and other commercial lending institutions in a broad spectrum of financing structures and with a wide variety of collateral. Bruce has also represented borrowers in a variety of financing transactions, including bank lines of credit, real estate loans, private placements and public debt offerings.
Bruce's clients especially appreciate his thorough understanding of their businesses, his determination to find ways to achieve business results despite legal obstacles and his ability to complete projects efficiently and at a reasonable cost.
Bruce has served on the Boards of Directors of the Oregon Zoo Foundation and the Portland Parks Foundation. He was also a board member and president of Neighborhood Health Clinics, a non-profit organization that provided medical care to the uninsured using volunteer doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other providers. Bruce has also served on the Hospital Facility Authority of the City of Portland and was a member of the citizen's task force that drafted the first food cart ordinance for the City of Portland.
