Bruce Platt has represented clients in the areas of health maintenance organization and insurer regulation, health care provider regulation and administrative law, representing clients before the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation, the Department of Financial Services, the Department of Elder Affairs, and the Agency for Health Care Administration (both commercial and Medicaid for nearly 20 years. He has assisted healthcare providers, insurers and insurance-related companies with numerous applications and filings, including acquisition and certificate of authority applications for health maintenance organizations, insurance companies, reinsurers, prepaid limited health service organizations, third party administrators and discount medical plan organizations. Because of his extensive knowledge and experience in this area, he is able to help clients navigate through the complexities associated with the regulatory process. Bruce also monitors legislation and rule changes to ensure that he has the most current and comprehensive understanding of the issues and can provide clients with the most expeditious methods to address their goals.
Additionally, Bruce represents clients in disciplinary proceedings and rule development hearings and workshops, and he provides advice on strategic planning and government relations as well as regulatory and compliance issues as they arise. He also assists healthcare providers with licensing and compliance issues before the Agency for Health Care Administration. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Bruce worked several years in the medical technology field.
