Mr. Larocque is a Lavery partner and a member of the firm’s Litigation and Commercial Insurance Group. He is active in the area of civil litigation, including libel, insurance law, professional liability and class actions. He represented a major law firm in professional liability proceedings related to the distribution of securities to the public, several insurance companies in litigation involving tens of millions of dollars in damages as a result of flooding which occurred in several municipalities, a major Crown Corporation in litigation seeking several million dollars against the manufacturer of sophisticated machinery and acted both as plaintiff or defence counsel on behalf of media businesses in the context of libel litigation. He is a regular speaker on various subjects, including insurance law, liability, and civil procedure and is a certified trainer for the Damage Insurance Institute of Quebec. He is listed in the 2013 edition of Best Lawyers in Canada as a leading practitioner in the fields of Class Action Litigation and Insurance Law.
