Barry is a Partner in William Fry’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution and advises on the resolution of a wide range of commercial disputes with specialist knowledge of restructuring, insolvency and corporate recovery law.
Recent significant cases include advising The National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) on:
- Enforcement of security for €1.7bn loans against Treasury Holdings and successful defence of challenge to the enforcement.
- Its loans to Mr. John Ronan and connected parties, to include the recent re-financing of those facilities.
Barry has been appointed by the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation to be a member of the Company Law Review Group on behalf of The Irish Society of Insolvency Practitioners. Barry is the immediate past Chairman of the Irish Society of Insolvency Practitioners. He is also a member of INSOL Europe – The European Insolvency Practitioners Association; The UK Insolvency Lawyers Association; and ABFA – the Asset Based Finance Association.
