Barbara J. Norell is a partner in the Health Law Group at Harper Grey. Her practice focuses on defending civil claims and complaints to regulatory bodies against physicians, and providing advice in matters involving privacy law.
Barbara is a member of the firm’s Practice Management Committee. She is also the firm’s Privacy Officer and oversees the firm’s compliance with privacy laws and its privacy policies and procedures.
In early 2013, Barbara was appointed as Harper Grey’s Chief Diversity Officer and leads the firm’s diversity and inclusiveness strategy to identify and implement best practices in this area. As part of this role, Barbara leads the firm’s participation in the Justicia Project. Developed by the Law Society of Upper Canada, and implemented in British Columbia in 2012, the Project is a voluntary program bringing together law firms committed to sharing best practices and developing resources and programs to support the retention and advancement of women lawyers.
