Ms. Ryan has been a Partner at the firm since 1997 and has been an Attorney since 1989. Prior to entering Seton Hall Law School (J.D. 1989), she was a Nurse Manager ("Head Nurse") at The New York Hospital (now NY Presbyterian), in New York City. Ms. Ryan's area of legal expertise is Health Care Law and Medical Malpractice defense litigation, with an emphasis on physician discipline, credentialing, regulatory matters, and advising clients on plans of correction to enhance patient safety. She has served several terms on the Board of Directors of the Association for Healthcare Risk Management of New York, which is the local chapter of of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM).
Ms. Ryan has served on the Executive Committee of the Health Law Section of the New York State Bar Association, and is a past Chair of the Health Professionals Discipline Committee. She has served as President of the New York Women's Bar Association (1999-2000); President of the NY Judges And Lawyers Breast Cancer Alert (2001-2002), and was appointed by the Appellate Division, First Department, to a second term (2014-16) to the First Department Disciplinary Committee for Lawyers.
Ms. Ryan frequently lectures on professional healthcare licensure, risk management and medical malpractice issues. She has also taught courses in Healthcare Risk Management and Elder Law, as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies and at many seminars and venues in the New York metropolitan area.
