Arthur has been a partner at Gadens for over 25 years and leads our Sydney Aged Care and Seniors Living Communities practice.  In 2015 was voted the Best Lawyer in Sydney.

Arthur holds dual qualifications in accounting and law and has been admitted to practise since 1988.  Arthur has expertise across a range of practice areas including corporate, commercial litigation, taxation and franchising.  His principal area of work is now in the aged care and seniors living communities sectors and the development of facilities for these areas.

His experience in corporate and taxation principles enables him to provide in-depth advice on all aspects of the acquisition, disposal, development and operation of aged care and seniors living facilities.

His experience in disputes also enables Arthur to assist approved providers and operators of facilities to respond to litigious issues and deal with administrative actions.

From this work, he has developed extensive experience in advising upon the formation, tax implications and disputes and problems arising from the operation of not for profit organisations which play a significant role in the aged care and retirement village industry.

Arthur’s skills are highly regarded by the aged care and seniors living sectors and he often provides advice to leading industry bodies, such as Leading Age Services Australia and Aged and Community Services Australia.  He was a member of the RVA think tank that responded to the Productivity Commission’s inquiry on the future health care demands for Australia’s aging population.  He regularly speaks at industry conferences as a thought leader in the industry.
