Antje Baumann represents companies, shareholders and investors in complex commercial disputes.
Her main focus is on international arbitration where she is acting as counsel and as arbitrator. Antje Baumann has particular expertise in Corporate Disputes (i. a. Post M&A, joint venture- and shareholder disputes), in liability of advisors, in banking and finance, in plant manufacturing and energy industry.
Antje Baumann represents her clients before state courts in actions against critical shareholders, e.g. in actions for voidance or annulment, the related approval-proceedings (Freigabeverfahren) in connection with capital measures as well as in appraisal proceedings. She acts on behalf of financial institutions and issuers in disputes under capital market law. Antje Baumann also renders legal advice in compliance questions, i. a. regarding liability of members of the management or the supervisory board, including D&O insurances.
Antje Baumann was recently selected by her peers for inclusion in Handelsblatt/Best Lawyers in Germany 2016 in the field of arbitration and mediation. In the JUVE handbook 2015/2016 she is described as “excellent strategist and outstanding lawyer”.
Antje Baumann lectures International Arbitration and negotiation skills at the University of Osnabrueck. She also teaches at the Bucerius Law School in the context of the course International Mergers & Acquisitions to M&A Disputes (in English).
