I am the chairman of Young Basile, an 16 attorney Detroit based IP law firm. My practice concentrates on technology transactions, patent prosecution and strategic IP counseling, with a focus on the electronics, software, e-commerce and the automotive industry. My clients now and over the years include Nissan, Abbot, the Postal Service, LeapFrog, Synopsys and Schneider Electric.

Prior to joining Young Basile, I was the chair of 18 attorney technology transaction practice in Cooley Godward's San Francisco office. I was also an officer of the San Francisco Intellectual Property Lawyers Association.
Prior to joining Cooley, I practiced in Chicago at McBride Baker, and there was a key member in one of the world's first law practices focused on Internet law. I co-authored the first published book on the law of the Internet (Online Law, 1996). I did pioneering legal work in digital signatures, privacy, online auctions, and domain name disputes and coined the phrase "reverse domain name hijacking."
