Andres A. Mezgravis obtained his Law degree at Universidad Catolica Andres Bello. He is a specialist in Procedural Law from Universidad Central de Venezuela, Caracas. He is also a professor at Universidad Catolica Andres Bello in Alternative Dispute Resolution. He has been visiting professor at the High Specialization program in international arbitration that is annually organized by the Peruvian Institute of Arbitration. He is a founding partner of the Firm Mezgravis & Asociados. He was the coordinator of the Drafting Committee of the Draft Rules of Conciliation and Arbitration of the Business Center for Conciliation and Arbitration (CEDCA in Spanish) and President and co-founder of the Arbitration Committee of the Venezuelan-American Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VenAmCham/ 2000). He is currently member of the list of arbitrators and conciliators of the Business Conciliation and Arbitration Center (CEDCA), Caracas-Venezuela, and the Caracas Commercial Chamber, Venezuela. He is also an international arbitrator at the Arbitration and Mediation Centre of the Quito Chamber of Commerce. He has been appointed to the roster of arbitrators of the Arbitration Center of the Construction Industry in Mexico (CAIC). He is a member of the list of international arbitrators of the Peruvian Institute of Arbitration and he is also a member of the Board of the Venezuelan Chapter of the Spanish Arbitration Club, and member of the Latin-American Arbitration Association. Author of several legal articles. Aside from his extensive experience in litigation, commercial arbitrations and negotiations, he has represented and currently represents several investors who have brought disputes to the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) jurisdiction.
