Alan practices exclusively in the area of healthcare law. He received his undergraduate degree in pharmacy from Wayne State University and his law degree from the University of Detroit. Alan is recognized in the Health Care area for Best Lawyers in America and Michigan Superlawyers.
His background as a licensed Pharmacist provides a valuable added dimension to the services provided to firm clients. Alan represents a variety of health care providers including long term care facilities, ambulatory care providers, physicians, physician groups, pharmacists, pharmacies, physical therapists and clinical laboratories in matters involving health insurance audit defense, third party reimbursement, medical staff privileges and credentialing, licensure, fraud and abuse, physician self-referral, business planning, transactional, corporate, regulatory compliance and contractual matters.
A frequent speaker on healthcare topics, Alan serves on the Institute of Continuing Legal Education’s Health Law Institute faculty and is a former Adjunct Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Wayne State University’s College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions. He is admitted to practice law in Michigan, the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. A member of the State Bar of Michigan, the American Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association, Alan is also a member of the Michigan Pharmacists Association, and a Fellow of the American Society of Pharmacy Law.
