The Davis, Saunders & Miller Law Firm concentrates on serious personal injury and wrongful death case litigation in both the State and Federal Courts throughout the Southeastern United States.
The firm’s areas of practice include representing railroad workers injured on-the-job who are covered by Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA), seamen and offshore workers hurt at sea whose legal rights are governed by Maritime Law (Jones Act), and cases arising from airplane crashes including litigation for pilot error and against the Federal Government for air traffic controller negligence under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA).
The firm’s attorneys have tried cases before juries in New Orleans, Louisiana, and in Courts from Houston, Texas, to as far north as Washington, D.C. In addition, the firm has handled cases as far south as West Palm Beach, Florida. The firm has obtained jury verdicts in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Texas and Virginia.
Members of the firm make annual educational presentations and publish papers at legal seminars conducted by the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and Louisiana Association for Justice (LAJ). In addition, both Ben B. Saunders and Joseph M. Miller have published articles in the Loyola Law Review where both served on its board during their legal education at Loyola Law School in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Today, Ben B. Saunders serves on the Loyola Law Alumni Board of Directors, and Joseph Miller has had his article on Railroad Law Preemption cited by courts nationally.
Ben B. Saunders is Designated Legal Counsel for the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen. James T. Davis, (deceased) was Designated Legal Counsel for the United Transportation Union (conductors). Ben B. Saunders has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers and Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the American Trial Lawyers Association. All lawyers within the firm belong to the American Bar Association, Louisiana Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association, as well as the Federal Bar Association.
