Mr. Vertz is a partner of Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC, a Pittsburgh law firm devoted to family law litigation, settlement, and appeals. He is experienced in resolving all financial and personal aspects of divorce, property division, alimony, child support, spousal support, settlements, prenuptial agreements, custody, and appeals.

Mr. Vertz is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and a Super Lawyer. His career has been profiled by Ten Leaders, and his law firm is listed among the Top Tier Family Law Firms by U.S. News & World Reports. He holds credentials as an MBA and Accredited Valuation Analyst, denoting proficiency in business valuation. He has concentrated his practice in family law for two decades. Mr. Vertz has served on governing bodies and committees for the Pennsylvania Bar Association and Allegheny County Bar Association Family Law Sections. He is a member and former Area Governor of Toastmasters International. He is a Trustee of the Crafton Public Library.

Mr. Vertz is a broadcast lecturer and author for Family Law Update (2006 – 2011), one of the most-watched family law programs of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. He is an author of Slicing the Pie: Equitable Distribution in Pennsylvania (PBI 2010); Business Valuation and Divorce (PBI 2009); Tax Consequences in Divorce (PBI 2005) and Drafting Marital Settlement Agreements (PBI 2003, 2008) as well as Fundamentals of Family Law (PBI 1994 - 2011). He has lectured before the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges on custody issues. He was educated at the University of Michigan (BA 1988), the University of Pittsburgh School of Law (JD 1992), and the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business (MBA 1991). 

Mr. Vertz publishes a blog containing timely legal information about complex financial issues in divorce, including business valuation, executive compensation, double dipping, international divorce, prenuptial agreements and business succession planning, and other advanced issues.
